Conference Biodiversity Goes Local
From 25-26 September 2013, NALAS took part in the Conference Biodiversity Goes Local 2 that was organised by ECNC–European Centre for Nature Conservation, together with its project partner Regional Environmental Center (REC). The Conference was in the framework of the project ‘A Local Biodiversity Action Planning Network in the Western Balkans – SEEBAP II’ , funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
The goal of the conference was to bring together local partners in order to promote local biodiversity actions at local and regional level throughout South-East Europe, by presenting, discussing, and disseminating the outcomes of both phases of the SEEBAP project, which stimulated municipalities with visionary plans for biodiversity conservation in the context of sustainable local development.
NALAS was represented at the Conference by Ms Danijela Djurovic, President of the Parliament of Herceg Novi, and member of NALAS Task Force on Solid Waste Management on behalf of the Union of Municipalities of Montenegro. Ms Djurovic was a speaker and a panelist in Ensuring Sustainability of Local Biodiversity Actions Towards the Future.
