NALAS Task Force on Energy Efficiency

The NALAS Task Force on Energy Efficiency addresses the increasing issues with energy in South East Europe. As energy efficiency is an interdisciplinary field, this task brings together energy experts, municipal energy managers, mayors and other professionals who contribute together in mitigating the energy problems by proposing changes in the legislation, collecting best practices, encouraging better use of the available energy and employing renewable sources of energy.

The Association of Kosovo Municipalities ( web site) is the host association of the Energy Efficiency Task Force. It is represented by Mr. Sazan Ibrahimi, executive director of the Association.

During its first meeting, the Task Force identified the most serious energy challenges in South East Europe ( list of challenges). These energy challenges are not much different than in the rest of Europe, with the exception that, South-East Europe also suffers from severe economic and environmental problems caused by the inefficient and polluting energy systems in place.

The NALAS Task Forces meet four times a year, or more often if needed. Information for each meeting is also displayed on this page.
