Discussion: Local Authorities Respond
The European Commission on Thursday said the bloc's economic outlook has "deteriorated" since the Eurozone debt crisis. The EU Economic Affairs Commissioner Olli Rehn said the economy is "expected to come to a virtual standstill" by the end of the year, but that "we do not forecast a recession". Surely, this is bad news for the municipalities, too. But, surely, this will hardly discourage any local authority to continue their efforts in tackling the crisis, maintaining social stability and providing best services they can for their citizens. If you are among those trying harder than ever, innovating, or helping municipalities in tackling the crisis, please tell us your story. We've learned that we can achieve much more if we learn from each other.
You can tell us your story below, or by email addressed to info@nalas.eu. We will then publish and distribute a selection of cases relevant for the local authorities in South East Europe.
